After the third round, it felt like Finland’s Tapio Pulkkanen was about to take home the D+D Real Czech Masters 2021 title. While Pulkkanen did recover with a few birdies, in the end, Johannes Veerman enough left in the tank to overtake him and secure his maiden Europen Tour title. Veerman shot four-under 68 in Round 4, beating Pulkkanen and Sean Crocker. Somehow, someway, Tiger Woods inspired Veerman to beat the pack with a two-shot lead.
At one point, there was a four-way tie for the lead, but Veerman persevered. He stuck with his game and ended up winning the event. He was up against some really great golfers, especially Pulkkanen – who was in excellent form till his mid-round slip-up. It was an eventful tournament, complete with many last-round ups and downs.

Veerman beats Pulkkanen for first European Tour win
In a post-game interview, Veerman spoke about the same, highlighting how he felt by going up against Pulkkanen, Crocker, Henrik Stenson and Paul Peterson. “It’s unbelievable. I played with two great players today, both of them played really well the whole entire way,” he said while speaking to Sky Sports. “At one point there was four of us all tied for the lead and I just stuck to my game. I can’t believe I won. I’ll wake up tomorrow and then I’ll really feel it”.
The 29-year-old admitted to feeling nervous, even though he has done it a hundred times before. He had indeed begun with a bogey, catching up eventually with four birdies.
How did a Tiger Woods play help Veerman secure his title?
Veerman also spoke about Tiger Woods, and how drew inspiration from his play to help win the round. “Me and Connor my caddie were talking about Tiger Woods and how he was short-sided on 16 at Augusta, 16 at Muirfield and he was like ‘Dude, it’s just like that, just a big flop shot on the green’. I didn’t make it but hit it close enough”.
Woods, 45, is one of the best golfers to ever play the sport. In a career spanning over two decades, countless moments from the icon have wowed golf fans across the world. Currently recovering from his accident earlier this year, Woods has won 15 majors, including a career Grand Slam – which is also the Tiger Slam in his case.
