From Creative Designs to Classy Golf Shoes: Some of the Best Footwear Seen at the Tokyo Olympics

The Tokyo Olympics is arguably one of the most eye-catching sports tournaments this year. With over 200 countries taking part in the capital of Japan, fans across the world witnessed sport at its highest level of competition.

While athletes produced some of the finest displays, some of them also wore impressive footwear during their performances. It’s no secret that fans worldwide see shoes as a unique attraction during sporting events.

As the Games approach the end, here are some of the most eye-catching shoes worn by athletes from different countries in the two-week global sporting spectacle.

Athletes dazzle the world with colorful shoes in Tokyo Olympics

Across the last two weeks, millions across the world witnessed some of the finest performances in sports. Along with new Olympic gold medalists, the Games also played host to multiple new world records being set in the capital of Japan.

While only a select few play sports at the Olympics, many across the world feel closer to them because of the shoes they wear. Hence, it’s no surprise that athletic footwear still draws a lot of attention from fans. Ranging from USA to Sweden, some countries did not hold back on bringing their best shoe game to Tokyo.

Some of them wrote heartwarming messages on their shoes. This shoe here, albeit a simple design, carried four simple words: “I play for you.”

While some took to messages, some others showed their colors proud by incorporating innovative designs and their flag.

Japanese boxer Sewonrets Quincy Mensah Okazawa infused color with the Japanese flag with his high-tops. This shoe drew a lot of attention from fans, with some calling it one of the best shoes seen at the Games this year.

Asics brought their A-game with a design specifically for the Olympics. During the golf tournament, members of the Thailand golf sported the shoe on the course.

Under Armour also appeared briefly at the Games, with this shoe resembling an impressive color combination.

Swedish golfer Madelene Sagstrom also brought an interesting pair of shoes to the golf course. Her Callaway shoes saw the Swedish flag overlapping the word “Sweden” on the shoe. Although a simple design, it certainly drew attention.

Who will finish on top of the medal tally on August 8?

With just two days to go, China and the United States still have a lot to play for. While China have five more gold medals, USA have 19 more total medals and are just two short of 100.

With the remaining finals playing to USA’s strengths, expect a nail-biting finish at the top of the medal tally.
