Cricket icon Shane Warne positive for COVID-19

Shane Warne has tested positive for COVID-19 while coaching in English cricket tournament The Hundred.

Warne, London Spirit's head coach, felt ill ahead of a game on Sunday against Southern Brave at Lord's. He then returned a positive lateral flow test.

A coaching colleague in the team also tested positive. Both men are isolating. No players have been affected at this stage.

"After feeling unwell this morning, Shane returned a positive lateral flow test and will isolate from the squad and support staff whilst he awaits PCR (test) results," a Spirit statement said.

Warne is the second coach to test positive for coronavirus during The Hundred, following Andy Flower of Trent Rockets. The tournament has been running only 10 days.

Player Steven Mullaney was also isolated after being deemed a close contact of Flower.
