One of the most prestigious events in all of sport, the Summer Olympics, is all set to begin in the capital city of Japan from the 23rd of this month. Both these players are the reigning champions at Wimbledon and are in an exceptional form entering into the Olympics.
Along with Djokovic and Barty, the Tokyo Olympics will also be crucial for the likes of Naomi Osaka, Daniil Medvedev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas to get on the right peddle ahead of the hard-court season.
Andy Murray, who won back-to-back gold medals at both the Olympic events in London and Rio, will also be selected to represent Great Britain in Tokyo.
However, the chances of Murray clinching a third straight gold medal looks highly unlikely considering the difficult phase the Brit went through over the past few years.
Coming to the women’s draw, a lot of players will be making their Olympics debut in Tokyo. The likes of Ash Barty, Naomi Osaka, Aryna Sabalenka, etc., will be representing their respective countries for the first time.
Both the men’s and women’s singles first-round matches will take place from 24th July.
