NASCAR Shows its Global Aspiration with International iRacing Series

In 2010, NASCAR collaborated with iRacing to launch a simulation racing series. Admittedly, many other sporting disciplines and fans were caught off guard at the move. It is worth noting that many figured that NASCAR had little in common with the emerging eSports industry.

Against all odds, the iRacing project became a smash hit. This is because users can implement wheels, pedals, and/or shifters in order to give off a similar experience to driving in NASCAR.

Now, the two have collaborated to help launch an international series for overseas competitors. If the series takes off, eNASCAR could become more widely followed than the sport itself.

On an interesting note, eNASCAR has plans for broadening its horizons. In fact, it is targeting the likes of Europe, Mexico, and Canada with an eNASCAR International iRacing Series. According to reports, the competition format consists of three separate races on virtual tracks.

What to expect from these virtual NASCAR races?

Interestingly, the tracks are Brands Hatch, Circuit of The Americas, and the Daytona Road Course. It is also worth mentioning that the series is invitation-only and will feature top drivers from different disciplines. Furthermore, the International Series comes on the back of the Pro Invitational Series.

This series was supposed to be a single-night event, but its popularity skyrocketed. As a result, many NASCAR pros signed on for another five races for the current year.

The eNASCAR platform has been successful largely because of the game’s physics. This includes suspension, handling, tires, and many more intricacies.

To make matters even better, eNASCAR even placed special emphasis on safety. Drivers even use them to try and get used to the tracks, especially when they pay visits to new ones.

For example, NASCAR visited the Circuit of The Americas for the first time and the simulators would have been a big boon.
