On August 7th, Kyle Larson and a handful of NASCAR drivers will be in Philadelphia. The reason for their presence in the city is the UYRS Celebrity Grand Prix. This is an organisation that is dedicated to helping the youth find career opportunities in the motorsport world.
Recently, Larson spoke about the upcoming race and expressed his excitement. He said, “Join me and the other Hendrick drivers in Philadelphia on August 7th for the Urban Youth Racing School Celebrity Grand Prix. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Based on his message, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, and William Byron will also be in attendance. Without a doubt, Larson will enjoy himself at the Philadelphia race.
He and his Hendrick Motorsports teammates will be glad to race just for the fun of it, while in the midst of a hectic season. However, it is worth noting that there is a Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International in New York.
What does this mean for Kyle Larson and company?
Admittedly, this will mean that the Hendrick Motorsports quartet will have to rush. Considering that all four drivers are in a championship fight, none of them can afford to miss a race.
At the moment, there are four races left and three playoff spots left, so it is all to play for in the 2021 Cup Series regular season.
So far, Kyle Larson has enjoyed an incredible first season with Hendrick Motorsports. In fact, his form has been so spectacular that he finds himself battling for the Cup Series championship. He currently sits 13 points behind championship leader Denny Hamlin, who has yet to win a race.
Larson’s form has been so incredible that it is hard to believe that he spent nearly a year away from the sport. During his time away, he chose not to remain idle and competed in non-NASCAR-sanctioned races.
