“If It’s America, Then Let’s Go”- Dillian Whyte Calls Out Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, Luis Ortiz, and More

WBC Interim heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte has been vocal about demanding bigger fights in his career all the time. Although he has received a few, Whyte is still untested against many of the other elite heavyweight boxers. Starting from Tyson Fury to Luis Ortiz, there’s a long list of Whyte’s desirable opponents.

That said, ‘The Body Snatcher’ has called out the top-tier heavyweights once again in a fresh new banter. As Whyte doesn’t look to have a viable contender on sight, he connected with Sky Sports to address the ongoing scenario.

Dillian Whyte said, “I’m willing to fight anyone, but it’s been hard getting the challenges I want. I’ve been trying to fight Wilder for 600 years. I’ve been trying to fight Tyson Fury, I’ve been trying to fight Joshua, I’ve been trying to fight Andy Ruiz, I’ve been trying to fight Luis Ortiz.”

He added, “I’ve been trying to fight all of these guys but none of them wants to fight, so I have to take the next available dangerous contenders down the list. If it’s America, then let’s go!”

Following a win against Alexander Povetkin in the rematch, Whyte is once again the Interim titlist which mandates him as the challenger to Tyson Fury’s WBC belt.

However, Tyson Fury will defend the belt against Deontay Wilder on July 24. After that, the WBC champion may opt for a unification bout.

Hence, it would leave Dillian Whyte waiting for the world title shot or urge him to defend his Interim strap. But that would also endanger his mandatory spot for a world title shot.

What’s next for Dillian Whyte?

Despite having the interim status, Whyte seems irrelevant in the ongoing title ride. Meanwhile, American boxer Charles Martin has recently called out Dillian Whyte, asking him for an in-ring scrap.

In response, Whyte didn’t give much importance ‘Prince’ but has vowed to beat him, whenever they collide.

So, it can be a valid matchup at this point. Other than that, Fury vs Wilder 3 would also determine a losing side.

Hence, Whyte can opt for that fight, as the winner would likely go for a unification contest in the coming days. So, it seems that another title elimination bout is awaiting in the doors, and only time will tell the next best move for ‘The Body Snatcher’.
