After an unexpected withdrawal from Wimbledon Championships earlier this month, Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios will be back in action at the upcoming ATP Atlanta Open, which starts from 27th of July.
In his opening-round matchup at Atlanta, Kyrgios will face South Africa’s Kevin Anderson. Alongside the Australian, the likes of Benoit Paire, Taylor Fritz, Jack Sock, and John Isner will also be playing the event.

Ahead of the tournament, Kyrgios spoke to the media and mentioned his happiness over the fact that the event will be conducted in the presence of crowds.

“You know, I came off the practice court and there was 50 fans waiting for me to come off the court, just to take a picture or sign a ball“, the Australian said.
Kyrgios, who clearly mentioned several times that he plays the sport only to entertain people that paid to watch him perform. While this attitude on-court doesn’t give him tour titles, it did give him numerous fans over the years.
Even at the recently-concluded Wimbledon Championships, the Australian did enthrall the crowd on court-1 during his first round matchup against the Frenchman Ugo Humbert.
Despite an injury forced withdrawal from SW19 against Felix Auger-Aliassime in the third round, Kyrgios received wide applause from live audience on-court.
Coming to the Atlanta Open, the Australian decided to play doubles with the American player, Jack Sock. The American, who bounced back to good form by winning the Hall of Fame Open recently, will also be playing the singles event at Atlanta.

Both Kyrgios and Sock are good friends off the court. When the Aussie was giving his interview, Sock scared his doubles partner.
“Oh, Jesus Christ!! Holy ****……I got so scared just then. He got so close to my ear. I didn’t feel his breath” screamed Kyrgios after that little prank from his friend/partner.

With two energetic players coming together on-court after a long gap, all eyes will be on this American-Aussie pair as they are all set to entertain the fans with high-octane tennis.
Sock and Kyrgios will play their first-round doubles match against Divij Sharan(India) and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi(Pakistan).
