Aaron Rodgers Set to Break a Green Bay Packers Record Held By Bart Starr and Brett Favre

After months of speculation, Aaron Rodgers finally turned up to Green Bay. The quarterback who is apparently keen on leaving the franchise was spotted at the Lambeau Field on Wednesday for his side’s training camp.

Set to suit up for the Green Bay Packers in 2021, Rodgers’ return provided some much-needed relief to Packers fans who have had a rollercoaster of an offseason.

Drafted back in 2005, Rodgers has been a Packer ever since he entered the league. And when he takes his first snap in 2021 as the side’s starting quarterback he’ll be breaking an all-time franchise record.

Aaron Rodgers first Packers QB to play for 17 seasons

The Green Bay Packers franchise has been fortunate to have multiple franchise QBs over the past decades. Bart Starr, Brett Favre, and Aaron Rodgers are all quarterbacks who will go down in Packers folklore as some of the finest to have graced Lambeau Field.

But with Aaron Rodgers set to start the 2021 NFL season as the side’s QB1, the California-born athlete will surpass the record set by most seasons as a Packers QB held by Starr and Favre.

Both Hall of Fame quarterbacks played 16 seasons for the franchise. But the year 2021 will be Aaron Rodgers’ 17th season as a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.

But it could very well be his last. As per reports the quarterback has agreed to return to Green Bay under certain conditions. The franchise is apparently set to void the 2023 year in his current contract and will not be able to place the franchise tag on him in the future either.

All this hints at 2021 being Rodgers’ final year with the Green Bay Packers. His last dance. But even if the quarterback does leave, he’ll leave behind a legacy that will be hard to match.

A Super Bowl winner, three-time MVP, and the first Packers quarterback to complete 17 seasons with the franchise, some Rodgers’ records at Green Bay might never be toppled.
