What’s Next for Anderson Silva, Jermall Charlo, Naoya Inoue, and Gabriel Rosado?

Boxing had some massive talking points last night, with several high-profile events taking place. Some of the biggest names on show included former UFC champion Anderson Silva, WBC middleweight champion, Jermall Charlo, bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue, and middleweight contender Gabe Rosado.

All the big names on show last night successfully lived up to their hype. Each fighter made a statement in their own way as they looked to capture the headlines. So what next for all those victories over the weekend?

What next for Anderson Silva?

The UFC legend and former middleweight champion showed no signs of discomfort in the ring. He put on an impressive showing against a former world champion in Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. However, at 46, it is difficult to see him putting together a run towards the title.

Thus, we think a long-awaited boxing fight against Roy Jones Jr. would be an interesting idea for Silva. While Jones Jr. is certainly not the only option, it would be exciting given the history between the pair. Moreover, Jake Paul has already offered Silva a slot on his undercard.

What next for Jermall Charlo?

Jermall Charlo successfully defended his WBC middleweight and kept intact, his unbeaten record against Juan Macias Montiel. More importantly, he stayed on course for a potential bout against Canelo Alvarez.

However, a shot at Alvarez will be too soon for Charlo, and the Mexican has other plans right now. He will probably face Caleb Plant for the undisputed title in September. Thus, a move up to super-middleweight to face David Benavidez seems like the best option for Jermall Charlo.

Both fighters have called for the Alvarez fight and both are coming off of fairly subdued performances. Furthermore, there has been trash-talk between the pair. Thus, it would make perfect sense for them to fight, with the winner getting a shot at Canelo.

What next for Naoya Inoue?

Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue continued his dominance in the bantamweight division with another stunning knockout victory over Michael Dasmarinas. The undefeated unified champion showed why he belongs in the P4P list, making light work of his challenger.

Now, a unification bout against old-foe Nonito Donaire, or fellow champion John Riel Casimero seems like an interesting idea. Inoue is already a multi-weight champion and he could reach a new height of superstardom if he becomes the undisputed bantamweight champion.

What next for Gabriel Rosado?

One event that went under the radar was the return of former super-middleweight title challenger, Gabriel Rosado. The 35-year-old made a huge stride towards one last push for the title when he knocked out Bektemir Melikuziev with a devastating one-punch finish. As a result, he is now the WBO International champion.

One opponent that we would like to see Rosado face next is Edgar Berlanga. The youngster is one of the brightest prospects and needs to make the step up in opponents. Moreover, Berlanga ranks #7 in the WBO rankings. Thus, if the fight happened, the winner could be closer to a title shot.
