Was Logan Paul Any Good as a Wrestler?: All You Need to Know About His Wrestling Career

Logan Paul will enter the boxing ring for only the third time in his life later today. He will take on arguably the greatest boxer of this generation, Floyd Mayweather, in an exhibition bout. However, this will not be the only combat sports experience Logan Paul has.

Before he became a global sensation, thanks to social media, Paul was a talented wrestler and could hold his own on the mats. According to some reports, Paul wrestled his way to a fifth-place a the OSHAA State Championships.

As a result, the YouTuber joined Ohio University and got selected for the university’s wrestling team, and qualified for the school’s wrestling championships. However, his time in the wrestling team did not last long as he quit in 2014 to pursue a career in YouTube. Some reports suggest his wrestling record ended at 34-2.

In this time, Paul had a high-profile wrestling match against Domenic Abounader. ‘The Maverick’ described the match as his ‘worst nightmare.’ And unsurprisingly, Abounader beat Paul 7-2. Years later, amidst Paul’s controversy, his opponent posted a picture of him, holding Paul in a choke to remind everyone he has beaten the YouTuber. ‘The Maverick’ also made a video detailing his experience.

Logan Paul and WWE

Wrestling did not stop there for the YouTuber-turned-boxer. He has since made one guest appearance on WWE as well. However, things did not work out as planned for the internet sensation.

Paul appeared as the special guest on WrestleMania 37 and grabbed all the attention. However, Kevin Owens had enough and hit him with a stunner. Therefore, Paul’s first appearance on WWE did not go as expected.

However, all these instances show that, despite his limited boxing experience, Paul is not a complete beginner in the fight game. Furthermore, some will argue that his wrestling background would be good for a switch to MMA. However, he will hope that his bout against Mayweather will go better than his WWE appearance.

What do you make of Logan Paul’s wrestling record? Do you think he should switch to MMA instead of boxing?
