In a manic back nine on the final round of the US Open that saw contenders drop off the leaderboard left, right and centre, no-one could have been cursing their luck more than Mackenzie Hughes.
The Canadian was just two shots behind leader Luis Oosthuizen when he slipped from contention due to a terribly unlucky lie.
Hughes pulled a tee shot on the par-3 11th hole at Torrey Pines, and could only watch in disbelief as the ball went through a tree, bounced off a cart path and then landed back in the tree, sitting frustratingly snug in between branches, refusing to come down.

He two putted for double bogey, dropping him to 4-under par.
Oosthuizen, who had a two-shot lead, bogeyed the same hole after flaring a shot to the right. He's at 5- under, one ahead of Jon Rahm.
