NFL Analyst Believes Kansas City Chiefs Offense Can Improve Not Because of Mahomes but for This Reason

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to bounce back in 2021 after a horror showing in Super Bowl LV. Being trampled all over by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the defending champions lost 31-9 at Raymond James Stadium to cap off a disappointing end to an otherwise stellar campaign.

Determined to turn things around, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently said that that the side’s offense will perform even better come next season.

This has left many to wonder just how good the Chiefs offense can be. The side already boasts some of the finest offensive talents in the league.

One NFL analyst though feels that this can be done. But to achieve this, the Chiefs will have to rely on the performances of their O-line more than that of Mahomes and his skill players.

Kansas City Chiefs O-line needs to put in a shift

During a segment of Get UP, NFL analyst Kimberley A. Martin talked about the side’s need to up their game at the O-line to hope for any significant improvements on offense.

“They’re pretty damn good, right? But looking at last season’s Super Bowl, the Chiefs O-line was the biggest issue. That was the biggest factor,” she said.

Recalling Mahomes’ nightmare at Super Bowl LV where the quarterback was seen scampering half the time, Martin highlighted the importance of the O-line holding up for Mahomes to work his magic.

“Mahomes’ 29 pressures during Super Bowl LV was the most in Super Bowl history. 29 pressures. It’s all about the O-line.”

And luckily enough for Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs have addressed their O-line woes over the offseason. The side added the likes of premier O-linesman such as Orlando Brown Jr., Joe Thuney, Austin Blythe, and Kyle Long to strengthen the protection for Patrick Mahomes.

“They’ve upgraded that. So the Chiefs should be ready to roll. But it’s interesting, he’s young and he’s already been to two Super Bowls. That’s pretty damn impressive. It’s a gift and a curse being that good.”

With a revamped O-line at his disposal, do you think Patrick Mahomes can take his game to the whole another level in 2021?
