After an incredible performance at the French Open 2021, Serena Williams will now train herself for the upcoming grass-court season. While she is not playing any lead-up tournaments before the Wimbledon Championships 2021, she is currently practicing at the Mouratoglou Academy in France.
Recently, a batch of Mouratoglou Academy’s students got graduated. There was a big ceremony for the same and Serena Williams gave a beautiful speech to inspire the young tennis players. She mentioned that firstly, it is really important to enjoy the sport.
“It doesn’t matter whether you are off to being a doctor or a rocket scientist, a tennis player, whatever you do, I found out that if you enjoy it, you are really good at it,” said Williams in her speech.
Serena even took the example of Basketball legend, Michael Jordan, in her speech. She highlighted that he never played the sport to earn money but because he enjoyed playing it.
“I think of Michael Jordan and that guy never played basketball, to like, make money. But he played because he loved what he did,” added the former World No.1 player.

“Could see the passion that he had”- Serena Williams on Michael Jordan
Serena further emphasized that Jordan’s passion for his sport was visible to everyone who watched him play. As a result, she advised the young players to take lessons from him in order to achieve success in their careers.
“You could see the passion that he had when he was out there. He absolutely enjoyed every minute of that. So, I would definitely say that’s one thing that you wanna take with you is enjoy what you do and that is one way that you’ll able to find success,” concluded the 23-time Grand Slam champion while addressing the rising stars.
Serena Williams is chasing her 24th Grand Slam title for more than four years now. Even though she played really well at the French Open 2021, she got eliminated in the pre-quarters of the tournament. However, her fans still back her and have huge expectations from the tennis queen. Will she be able to conquer London for the 8th time and finally end her Grand Slam title drought this year?
