“My Mission Isn’t Over”: Novak Djokovic Isn’t Satisfied After Registering His Name in History Books at French Open

World No.1 Novak Djokovic recently won his third-round clash against Ricardas Bernakis at the French Open 2021. Playing against the Lithuanian player, Djoker dominated the entire match and crushed his opponent in straight sets. The final scoreline of the match was 6-1, 6-4, 6-1.

With his win over Bernakis, Novak Djokovic became the first player who managed to reach the fourth round of the French Open 12 consecutive times. It is an accomplishment that even his arch-rivals, Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer, haven’t achieved in their careers so far.

Speaking about the record in a recent interview, Djokovic seemed really happy. However, he mentioned that his mission isn’t over in tennis yet and he surely wants to keep improving as a player.

“My mission isn’t over yet in professional tennis…There’s always something to improve,” said Djokovic in the interview.

The Serbian legend has achieved so much in his career but still has the hunger to earn more. It’ll be intriguing to see if he manages to end his career with the most Grand Slam titles or not.

Djokovic’s path at Roland Garros is not easy this year as even if defeats Musetti, he’ll most probably meet Federer in the quarters. Moreover, if he battles past the Swiss Maestro, he’ll have to beat Rafa in the semis to move into the finals.

Djokovic hasn’t won the French Open title since 2016. However, fans do realize that he is currently the only one who can beat Nadal on clay. Will he be able to stop Rafa’s reign and win his 19th Grand Slam in Paris this year?
