Mike Tyson on Acting: “It Keeps You Living Forever”

Nobody from the old boxing era is as renowned as Mike Tyson today. ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ makes it to the news headlines comfortably even today. This is predominantly why he’s the biggest star of boxing to date. Moreover, Tyson is a blunt personality, and he never shies from voicing his opinion on any given matter.

That said, in his recent HotBoxin’ podcast, Tyson put some light on boxing and acting as career verticals. He said, “Boxing I understand, it comes certain times that you can’t do it at the level that you really wanna do it, that’s the top level. This acting game is more to, it keeps you living forever.”

‘Iron’ Mike has worked in several films in his career. He tasted vast success in both boxing and the entertainment verticals and that’s why he came up with his aforementioned statement.

Although Tyson had a sublime run in his acting stint, he still prioritized his love for boxing over anything else. This is why the 54-year-old took up an exhibition boxing bout last year.

‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ fought Roy Jones Jr. and displayed substantial weapons from his vast artillery. Even though the contest ended in a draw, it abruptly generated a whopping 1.6 million PPV buys. This was one of the biggest boxing events of all time and predominantly one of the biggest in 2020.

‘Iron’ Mike still has the same love for boxing as he had while he was an amateur. He still keeps himself active with stringent workout regimes and looks to positively impact many individuals’ lives.

Should Mike Tyson return to professional boxing?

In his prime time, Tyson was a true annihilator who overpowered countless opponents with his dynamite-like punches.

However, as he’s gone past his prime decades ago, returning to the professional circuit just doesn’t seem to be right for him.

Almost 55 years old, he still can continue taking up exhibition fights, thus entertaining the wide boxing fan bases. It’ll be intriguing to see what he comes up with in the next few months.
