Jazz Star Donovan Mitchell Overtakes Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry in Incredible Playoff Record

The Utah Jazz were one of the most surprising teams in the NBA this season. Led by Donovan Mitchell, the Jazz ended up as the first seed in the stacked Western Conference.

Despite their incredible regular season performance, the Jazz crashed out of the Playoffs in the Western Conference with a 4-2 loss against the Clippers.

With incredible defense coupled with an effective offense, the Jazz were one of the most consistent teams in the league this season.

In the Playoffs though, the case was pretty different. While players like Jordan Clarkson and Mike Conley did have their moments, it was the dominant performances of Donovan Mitchell that was a constant for the Jazz.

Donovan Mitchell breaks an incredible record set by Damian Lillard and Steph Curry

While Mitchell suffered from an ankle injury late in the regular season, the 24-year-old was cleared for the Playoffs. After missing Game 1 against the Grizzlies, Mitchell came back in blazing form in the Playoffs.

This was just the sign of things to come for the 2-time All-Star. Despite struggling from an ankle injury, Spida averaged a mind-boggling 32.3 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game.

While there is no doubting D-Mitch’s scoring capability, one aspect of his game is often overlooked, his three-point shooting. Averaging 38.6% from the three-point line, Mitchell has become one of the primary three-point shooters in the league.

In his historic series against the Clippers, Mitchell was a one-man wrecking ball in the offensive end. Despite losing out the series in a cruel Game 6 meltdown, the 2-time All-Star scored a whooping 36 three-pointers in the series, shooting 43.5% from the perimeter.

With his 36 three-pointers, Mitchell broke an incredible record previously set by Damian Lillard and Steph Curry. This is certainly the indication of where the league is headed.
