Bulldogs players isolating amidst COVID chaos

Three Bulldogs players have been placed in isolation and ordered to get a COVID-19 test, after visiting an exposure site in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

Dylan Napa, Brandon Wakeham and Aaron Schoupp were at the Royal Hotel in Bondi on June 20, which was also attended by a person who has since tested positive to COVID-19.

The entire Bulldogs squad will not train until the test results are known.

"The NRL issued a clear directive to all Sydney based clubs on 17 June mandating that players and staff were not to attend any restaurants, clubs or bars in the Waverley Local Government area," the NRL said in a statement.

"All clubs in the Greater Sydney, Wollongong and Central Coast areas were placed on Level 3+ Biosecurity Protocols from Tuesday evening and are not permitted to leave home except to train or access essential services.

"The players have not been in contact with representatives from any other club nor does it impact any State of Origin player."

The Bulldogs, who are currently 15th on the ladder, don't play again until next Saturday, when they face Manly.

The COVID-19 drama comes as the Sydney Roosters were forced to relocate their Round 16 match against Newcastle to McDonald Jones Stadium.

The game was originally set to down for the SCG.

"The people of the Hunter region love rugby league so it was an easy call to take our Round 16 home game to Newcastle," said Roosters coach Trent Robinson.
