Two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, who will be playing singles at SW19 for the first time since 2017, has a tough fight in the first round against Nikoloz Basilashvili.
Murray had a tough run at Queen’s this year, where he lost to Matteo Berrettini in the second round. The Brit will enter Wimbledon without having high expectations.

Despite mixed results in his comeback stint, the former world number one continues to try and win as many matches as he can. Murray also tasted success by winning the men’s doubles title at Queen’s Club along with Feliciano Lopez and also won the European Open title after defeating Stan Wawrinka in the final.
It was an inspirational story indeed for fans of Murray to see him play competitive tennis again. Even the Brit mentioned a couple of times that he continues on-tour due to his sheer passion for the sport.
Touted to have one of the smartest brains on-court during a match, Murray also has quick wit and always been the person to speak his mind through the right channel.
In a recent interview, the former world number one talked about his admiration towards the veteran boxer, Muhammad Ali. When asked about a dream dinner, Murray mentioned the company of Ali along with Barack Obama and Ricky Geravis.
Andy Murray talks about the greatness of Muhammad Ali
“Muhammad Ali has always been an inspiration to me, for what he did in the boxing ring and outside of it. I would love to ask him about competing as a black man at that time and how he found life as the most famous athlete in the world of his time”, explained Murray.
The former world number one also shared admirable qualities in former US president Barack Obama and actor-comedian Ricky Geravis.
“Barack Obama is such an eloquent and interesting person, and he has a great sense of humor. Who wouldn’t want it around a table for dinner? And I think Ricky Gervais would make me laugh all night. I love his work and have been a huge fan of it for years”, concluded the Brit.
Andy Murray also remained vocal about equal representation for both men and women tennis players. Despite a difficult draw at Wimbledon this year, the three-time grand slam champion will be looking forward to make the most of his time at his home slam.
