‘Aaron Rodgers Has Divided Our Fan Base’ – Packers CEO Mark Murphy Addresses Situation Involving Star Qb

Green Bay is a city divided. And it’s all down to the actions of a quarterback who plays for the city’s biggest sporting franchise. The culprit? Aaron Rodgers.

The QB who was drafted back in 2005 has been a mainstay at Lambeau Field ever since. Guiding the side to their most recent Super Bowl success, Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have become synonymous with one another.

But there seems to be trouble in paradise. Aaron Rodgers reportedly wants out. While the exact reasons for his desire to leave are unknown, many believe it’s down to the QB’s deteriorating relationship with the team’s front office.

While Rodgers hasn’t publicly committed to that train of thought, his actions suggest otherwise. Skipping OTAs and refusing the clear the air about his future, it’s clear that not all is smooth sailing at the Packers camp.

Green Bay is a small town in Wisconsin known for its ardent football fans. For many, the Packers are everything. And they would do anything to side with their franchise.

But Aaron Rodgers seems to have split the Packers faithful into two separate factions. One that stands by the QB’s actions for the management’s inadequacies, and the other that remains steadfast by the management believing that no one is bigger than the team itself.

And with trouble brewing, it was only a matter of time before management stepped in to address the situation.

Packers working towards resolving Aaron Rodgers issue

In his monthly column on the Green Bay Packers website, franchise CEO and team President Mark Murphy talked about the only thing that has been the talk of the town.

“The situation we face with Aaron Rodgers has divided our fan base. The emails and letters that I’ve received reflect this fact,” Murphy said acknowledging the current situation.

“As I wrote here last month, we remain committed to resolving things with Aaron and want him to be our quarterback in 2021 and beyond. We are working to resolve the situation and realize that the less both sides say publicly, the better,” he added.

While the Packers remain committed to bringing Rodgers back for 2021, Murphy’s words clearly indicate that Rodgers is indeed not happy with how things stand.

A new contract could douse the flames, but perhaps even that might not be enough. Fans and people all across the league know just how staunch Rodgers can be.

Remaining totally committed to the franchise’s goals, he has been seen as a hallmark of loyalty. But that staunch nature of Rodgers could also see him sticking by the decision he’s made.

While the Packers look to fix this fractured relationship, one can’t help but wonder whether the cracks will remain even if Aaron Rodgers does ever put on a Packers uniform again.
