WBC and LZ Promotions Unveil the Iconic Green and Gold Belt for Indian Boxing

World Boxing Council (WBC) and LZ Promotions have joined hands to bring a historic transition in Indian boxing. The oldest boxing organization, the WBC, has promoted the sport across the world. While the Indian subcontinent has been away from that global glory, the nearing collision between Chandni Mehra and Suman Kumari is going to change the structure.

The WBC Indian lightweight championship will see two prime female pugilists lock horns, bringing a fresh wave to the nation. Meanwhile, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman shared the news via social media, sending global fans into a frenzy.

LZ Promotions Kingpin Parm Goraya has also revealed the news and has already released a glimpse of the iconic title. The title showcases Muhammad Ali and Jose Sulaiman alongside the iconic green and gold Indian belt, which will also feature the national flag. While Indian Boxing Council will commission the fight, fans can gear up for a nail-biting event.

Per Mauricio Sulaiman’s social media post, LZ promotion is thrilled to bring the iconic belt to India and seems to have even bigger plans ahead.

Addressing the issue, CEO Parm Goraya said, “I’ve been a boyhood fan of the WBC, their Champions, and the beautiful green/gold belt growing up in England. On a professional level, I’m totally honored to be given the WBCs first-ever Indian Championship fight at my inaugural event on 1 May 2021. Chandni Mehra and Suman Kumari are two great female ambassadors for girls, women in life, and boxing.”

He added, “I’m excited by this fight as we have two Indian number one’s in their respective weight divisions putting their reputation on the line.”
