WATCH: Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Dances Past Entire Rockets Defense and Sinks a Tough Layup

The Bucks are running at godspeed since their last week’s win over the Nets. The downtown, thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo and his leadership, is still a contender for finishing as the EC table toppers. Most recently, their 141-133 victory over the Rockets further strengthened their case.

Many analysts believe against it, but Giannis is still an MVP candidate because his figures are fattening with every passing night. The man of the hour is in astonishing form after those back-and-forth moments with Kevin Durant. And against the Rockets, Giannis was every bit lethal as he proved it in an outstanding play.

Giannis Antetokounmpo took over the Rockets one man at-a-time

The Greek Freak enjoyed an efficient first quarter, scoring 10 points against the Rockets, and then utilized that confidence to make a solid play in Q2. Just as the Rockets were marginally leading by 46-43 in the middle of the quarter, Giannis proved why he is a one-man army. In a transition play, the 26-YO beat every defender that came in his way to complete a layup, all by his own. Take a look at his court coverage and those artsy moves –

By halftime, he had 15 points and nine defensive rebounds under his belt, and that kept the Bucks neck-to-neck against H-Town. This past week has been a dream run for the reigning MVP as he enjoyed a 49-point night followed by a stupendous 36-point double-double night to trouble the Nets.

The Bucks were lethal even when the Freak was quiet

In a surprising turn of events, the Rockets kept Giannis Antetokounmpo from scoring anything in the third quarter. All that the freak managed were two defensive rebounds, and that’s it. Still, the Bucks enjoyed a 43-29 quarter to finally chart a formidable lead.

Although the Rockets showed some grit, the Bucks’ starting five proved too good for the players like Kelly Olynyk and DJ Augustin to handle. Star guard Jrue Holiday was phenomenal from both ends of the court, and he had the offensive help in center Brook Lopez. Also notably, Bryn Forbes came off the bench to convert all of his three-point attempts to make up for Giannis’s poor night from the perimeter.

All in all, this Bucks side is ready to dethrone the Nets as both the teams stand on a 43-win record. Do you see the Bucks finishing as #1? Help us know in the comments.
