The Golden State Warriors might not have the star power they once had, but they are still a resilient unit. Led by the duo of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green along with a young group of players, the Dubs find themselves in the eighth spot of the Western Conference.
While Green has anchored the defense, Steph has dominated the offense and has proven all the doubters wrong. Despite having a weak supporting cast on the offensive end, Curry has averaged 32.0 points, 5.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game.
With the 33-year-old on a tear, the Warriors are heading into the play-in tournament and can possibly make it to the playoffs. For their first matchup in the tournament, they will be facing off against LeBron James led Lakers for the seventh seed in the West.
Lakers’ Anthony Davis lauds Stephen Curry
Multiple stars have lauded Steph for his incredible individual season. After LeBron James claiming that Curry was the MVP, running mate Anthony Davis has joined the bandwagon.

Prior to the matchup against the Warriors, AD spoke to the media about Curry’s impact for the Dubs. “He’s carrying his team. Everyone counted, you know, the Warriors out and he doing everything he could to, to lead the team and to the position that they’re in now playing, fighting for the seven or eight seeds.

Davis also spoke about Curry being a possible MVP candidate. “The numbers, he’s putting up the things we’re doing on the basketball floor. For the Warriors, this is this insane. MVP candidate. So, you know, his hats off to him. Because he kept these guys alive all season. You know, when a game that people thought they should lose, I mean, he was playing his ass off to put his team in a great position to be in the playoffs.”
Curry is truly having arguably his best season and capped off his incredible regular season with a fantastic 46 point performance against the Grizzlies. But going up against the Lakers might be a huge challenge for the 2-time MVP.
With the defensive versatility they have and given the star power the champions have, they are surely a heavy favorite to win this game, but if Curry can put up video game numbers, the Dubs might pull off a shocker.
