Australian tennis professional Nick Kyrgios has never been shy of speaking his mind. Recently, he reacted to parallels drawn between him and his countryman Bernard Tomic.
Despite the criticism, Kyrgios is one of the most talented tennis players active on the men’s tour. And even though he opts to play only selected tournaments, fans never seem to get enough of him.

Nick Kyrgios compares accomplishments and charity work with Bernard Tomic
The former World No. 13 Nick Kyrgios celebrated his 26th birthday yesterday. However, on the special day, he decided to rant about the difference between him and World No. 207 Bernard Tomic.
Apparently, the Aussie star was not at all happy with the comparison. Thus, he took on his Instagram story to make the matter clear for once and for all.
Firstly, Kyrgios mentioned that he has a charitable foundation, Nick Kyrgios Foundation, unlike the 28-year-old Tomic. Additionally, he inquired about the success of the fellow Australian on the ATP Tour. He also asked about the involvement of the 6 feet 5-inch player in the monstrous bushfire last year.
“I got compared with Bernard Tomic today, and I’ve never felt more insulted. Does he have a foundation? @nkfoundation – does he have the accomplishments? Did he raise money for the bushfires? It’s disgusting man. Do your research,” Kyrgios wrote on his Instagram story.
Following that, the two-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist also reminded of his colossal accomplishment in the post. Nick wrote, “Oh and by accomplishments (I beat the big 4).”
Inarguably, Kyrgios is one of the few players who has won against Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray. Most significantly, he beat the big three (excluding Murray) in the first encounter with them.
Therefore, one might understand why Kyrgios is so upset. However, fans would love to see him do the talking with his tennis racquet instead.
Which tournament is Nick likely to play before Wimbledon?
Similar to his 2020 season, Kyrgios will skip the clay-court swing. But it is still not clear whether he will participate in the French Open 2021 next month.
Most likely, the Australian will resume his campaign after the Australian Open in Halle, Germany. The grass-court tournament would give him the match-time before competing for his beloved Wimbledon Championships 2021.
Hopefully, Kyrgios will find his winning ways on the men’s circuit and surge in the ATP rankings this year. Do you think Kyrgios can win an ATP title this year?
