Hogan didn't feature in the Giants' pre-season scratch match with the Swans on Saturday, which ended in a 54-all draw, and is in doubt to feature against St Kilda on March 21.

The 25-year-old's injury could also see him miss the round-two clash with his former side.

Hogan was originally taken with the second pick in the 2012 mini-draft, and enjoyed several fruitful seasons with the Demons before returning to his home state.

Meanwhile, the Adelaide Crows had injury added to insult in their practice match with arch rivals Port Adelaide, with midfielder Wayne Milera suffering a ruptured patellar tendon.

He will undergo surgery to repair the damage and faces a long stint on the sideline, putting his season in jeopardy.
