UFC welterweight Mike Perry’s 2021 hasn’t started off quite like one would have imagined given recent information that has surfaced. Perry posted some rather concerning content to his Instagram stories that has fans and MMA pundits alike quite concerned. Chiefly, the video grab sees Mike Perry having sustained a meaningful and bloody injury to his left leg.
The video grab picks up Perry filming a shattered glass sliding door that is cracked down the middle and then cuts to his injured leg. ‘Platinum’ Perry’s limb is bleeding excessively and it’s unclear the extent to which he is compromised.

What’s more, the MMA community is concerned as to why Perry would feel compelled to videotape such an incident for his social media. Apart from the incident itself, several questions as to his mental state of mind are being called into question. Moreover, it seems as though the incident was brought upon by Perry kicking in the door in presumably a fit of rage. However, the genesis of the situation is still very much up to speculation.
Mike Perry: Beyond the cage
The MMA world quickly on the aforementioned situation as Perry has made it a point to push the boundaries. This isn’t the first unsavory incident that ‘Platinum’ has been involved in, and it will unlikely be the last. 2020 came in filled with its fair share of instances and it seems like he’s determined to carry the same trend forward.

A YouTuber, David Abbasi, MD took it upon himself to get to the bottom of Mike Perry’s injury and he discussed the matter. Like many people, he also expressed sentiments of concern over Perry’s mental state to want to propagate such content on his social media. Abbasi put his clinical knowledge to the test and provided a medical insight into the bizarre occurrence.

On the fighting front, Mike Perry is coming off a loss to veteran Tim Means at UFC 255. The 14-7 fighter hasn’t shown consistency in his career and given his extra-curricular incidents it’s easy to see why. He will have to realign his efforts in his upcoming bouts to regain his status as a meaningful threat.
