AEW hosted NEW Year’s Smash on Dynamite this week (January 6th). In the main event, Kenny Omega retained his AEW World Championship against Rey Fenix.
However, the show was far from over. After the match, Omega’s long-time rival Jon Moxley came out with a barbed wire baseball bat and hit him in the gut.
It seemed Moxley had the advantage but shockingly, Impact Tag Team Champions, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, aka the Good Brothers, rushed to help Omega. This sudden ‘debut’ also marked ‘an invasion’ from Impact.

Kenny Omega has already been appearing on Impact Wrestling every week since winning the AEW title. Hence, he took no time in teaming up with his former Bullet Club buddies.
The trio brutally beat up Moxley with the barbed wire bat. There was zero help from the AEW locker room until the Varsity Blondes ran out to help Moxley.

Unfortunately, the duo was beaten down by a few ringside wrestlers. However, things took a different turn when AEW Tag Champions The Young Bucks came out and pleaded for order.
The show went off the air with all four former Bullet Club members taking part in a four-way “Too Sweet” salute.
AEW saw a Bullet Club reunion
Omega, Gallows, and Anderson were all members of the notorious Bullet Club in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The latter duo departed the faction back in 2016 after signing with WWE.
During the same time, Omega kicked out AJ Styles and assumed the leadership of the group. Omega and the rest of The Elite left the faction in 2018 as they found themselves in AEW and WWE.

Apart from Dynamite, Omega, Gallows, and Anderson will participate in the main event of Impact’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view on January 16. They will face Impact World Champion Rich Swann and the Motor City Machine Guns.
We still can’t confirm if this marks the beginning of a full-fledged invasion from Impact Wrestling. If it was indeed an invasion, then the inclusion of The Young Bucks (who are also EVPs of AEW) raises some eyebrows.

Do you think AEW is endorsing the ‘invasion’ or was it just a promotional tactic for the upcoming Impact PPV? Let us know in the comments below.
