A frightening display of six-hitting from young gun Ollie Davies has led the Sydney Thunder to a thumping BBL win over the Melbourne Renegades.
Sent into bat by Renegades skipper Aaron Finch, Davies' brutal knock of 48 led the Thunder's efforts as they amassed a first innings total of 8-209 off their 20 overs.
The Renegades never got going in their run chase, losing early wickets before eventually being dismissed for just 80, leading to a 129-run Thunder win.
After a blistering opening partnership between Usman Khawaja (34 off 18) and Alex Hales (35 off 21) set the table for the Thunder, Davies took it to the next level.
The 20-year-old lashed sixes off five consecutive deliveries before eventually being dismissed by Will Sutherland on 48 off 23 deliveries.
The Thunder reached their daunting total despite a team hat-trick from the Renegades, with Kane Richardson picking up two of the three wickets
In response, Finch was the only man to reach 20, with nine of the Renegades' XI failing to reach double-figures.
Young gun Tanveer Sangha led the Thunder's efforts with figures of 4-14 off 3.2 overs, while Kiwi paceman Adam Milne finished with 2-21 off three overs.
