Joe Burns could be set to make a Big Bash League return as early as tomorrow after being named in the Brisbane Heat's 19-man squad for their clash with the Sydney Sixers at the Gabba.
Burns was free to return to the BBL when he wasn't named in Australia's 18-man squad for the two final Tests against India.
A decision on whether the Queenslander plays his first BBL match since the 2019-20 summer is now set to be made when the Heat name their 13-man squad ahead of the bat flip.
Star Heat batsman Jimmy Peirson said a BBL comeback would give Burns a massive boost.

"Disappointing news to see him out of the Test team. He's such a fantastic player.
"He'll be back, bigger and stronger, and (I'm) looking forward to catching up with him."
