Dana White Touches on the Impact of Tom Brady’s Departure From the New England Patriots

Dana White

UFC President Dana White joined ‘SHOUT! The Buffalo Football podcast’ to talk all things MMA and NFL. The long-time UFC boss is an avid football fan and frequently weighs in on the happenings of the football world. Chiefly, White had plenty to talk about despite the fact that the UFC is on a break until January 16, 2021.

The UFC schedule is chalked with exciting fights right from the beginning of the year with Conor McGregor making his return. However, White was focused on another megastar that has been chartering new avenues in his 40s. Dana White spoke out on arguably NFL’s GOAT quarterback Tom Brady and his former franchise, the New England Patriots.

Dana White reflects on Tom Brady’s impact

White had plenty to say about Brady who is a player frequently mentioned when bringing up excellence. Brady moved away from the New England Patriots organization after around 20 straight years and 6 championships chips. He decided to play the 2020 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers down in Florida.

“This was eventually going to happen [Brady moving out of New England]. When you have the dynasty that these guys have had for so long, we knew that one day Brady was going to retire. And anybody who ever thought that Brady wasn’t a huge part of the success, cause you always get the haters and detractors. It was such a good team, defensively, offensively and Belichick is such a great coach, great owner in Kraft. The list goes on and on.

“But Brady was a big part of this team man. I knew when he left things were going to be a lot different. Takes some time to rebuild, but who could you have more confidence in than Belichick.”

The Buccaneers have certainly had a huge upstart with Brady’s experience into the squad and the Patriots have their work cut out for them. Despite Brady’s diminishing arm strength, he’s been able to rally the offense to great measure and the results show in their record. Dana White’s aforementioned sentiments certainly hold weight as Bill Belichick will move around the offensive pieces going into next season.
