Yasir Shah leaves Balochistan squad due to personal reasons

Karachi: Leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who is leading Balochistan in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2020-21, has left the squad.

The 34-year-old requested leave for personal reasons which was accepted by the team management.

Balochistan has called-up leg-spinner Usama Mir, who has taken eight wickets from two Second XI Quaid-e-Azam Trophy games as Yasir’s replacement.

Under Yasir’s captaincy, Balochistan has played two matches. They defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 186 runs in the first match and lost the second match by four wickets against Southern Punjab. Yasir Shah has taken 16 wickets in these two matches, including one five-wicket haul against KP.

According to sources, Imran Farhat is likely to be given the leadership of the side in the absence of Yasir Shah and Bismillah Khan, who is in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.

Balochistan will face Central Punjab at National Stadium, Karachi in the third round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
