Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are 2 of the most of amazing tennis players. They have achieved so much throughout their careers which is why it should not come as a surprise that they have reached another milestone.

Recently, Forbes released the list of the Richest Self-Made Women Under The Age Of 40. Sharapova was ranked 87th with a net worth of $200 million while Serena was 4 spots ahead with $225 million. These are not small numbers and that shows how successful Serena and Maria have been.

How Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova Made Their Millions

Both Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova have won numerous titles throughout their careers. So, prize money has played an important role in thier wealth. However, that’s not the only source through which they have made money as they have also recieved endorsements.

Sharapova racked up endorsements from brands like Nike, Evian and Porsche while Serena has been sponsored by Gatorade, Delta Air Lines, Aston Martin etc. This should come as no surpise to anyone as they are some of the most popular players around the world.

In addition to such endorsements, both players have also started successful businesses. The Russian has started her own candy company called Sugarpova and she has also started suncreen company called Sugergoop. On the other hand, the American has her own fashion line called S by Serena. In additon to that, she also runs Serena Ventures which invest in startups.

Both Serena and Sharapova are clearly doing well outside of tennis and hopefully, they will continue to do so in the future.
