COVID-19 Protocols in Place for the NASCAR YellaWood 500 Race at Talladega

In a spot of good news for NASCAR fans, the Talladega Superspeedway will welcome fans once again. Obviously, the track authorities will religiously follow the government, medical, and public health guidelines. The Speedway officials are determined to give the fans the best and safest experience possible.

In order to achieve this, the Talladega officials plan to reduce overcrowding in social areas and seating. In addition to that, the camping capacity has been reduced dramatically. Owing to this, no fans will be allowed in frontstretch seating for the race weekend.

Naturally, the Speedway is working in tandem with the Alabama health and government officials. As per the COVID protocols, people should maintain a CDC-recommended 6’ social distancing. Furthermore, all attendees from the age of 3 and over, have to mandatorily bring and wear face coverings.

They also need to sign a waiver acknowledging the new safety protocols. Only then will guests enter, after heading to specific parking areas.

What other measures will be in place for the NASCAR race at Talladega?

Additionally, there are proper procedures in place at the gates to minimize large concentrations of personnel or guests. On the subject of the spectators, they will be screened before entering the premises. This includes questions about their current health status, potential exposure, and a non-contact temperature check.

There are several sanitizing stations throughout the operating areas and entrances. A specific team of staff is on standby for cleaning or disinfecting at all times

It is also worth noting that the track has allowed fans to carry clear bags, backpacks, waist pouches, and/or clutch bags. However, they drew a line at allowing glass containers.

Dedicated medical personnel is on standby, in case any spectators show developing symptoms. They can provide treatment and transport for any potential victim. The track authorities will also notify any local public health officials in the event of a potential infection.

Finally, security and management can confiscate ‘inappropriate or unsafe’ items. However, these items are not properly specified and subject to change without notice.
