“Won’t Invite Them to The Parade”: Lakers’ Danny Green Has a Solid Message for Team’s ‘Fake Fans’

The Cleveland Cavaliers picked Danny Green as the 46th overall pick in 2009. That was the same team that housed a young LeBron James playing in his peak. However, Danny could play only 20 games before he was waived. Today, he is a key Lakers player.

Danny Green is one of the most consistent names to have appeared in the post-season. The NBA Playoffs 2020 marked his 10th consecutive outing. He has got 2 NBA rings and has played in 3 NBA Finals. Two of these finals had him (Spurs) play against The Akron Hammer (Heat). All this strongly suggests that he brings tremendous experience on the table when it’s about pressure handling. And he needs this art more than ever with every critic coming hard on him today.

The dark clouds of strong criticism against Danny Green

Danny’s disappointing figures, coupled with some embarrassing fails on the court, have exposed him to social media trolls.

He came back strongly on his haters when he spoke for a podcast. Danny said, “I just try to block out the noise, man. Anybody that’s negative that comes across my page, I usually just block them or ignore it.” He added, “They’re gonna talk crazy about you, talk crazy to you, people call it ‘cyberbullying,’ whatever … People just like to talk shit.”

He knows it very well that professional sports will always have fans mocking the players when they go through that rough phase. But he has divided such fans into categories as he expressed, “So when it’s all said and done, hopefully in October if we continue to play the way I know we’re capable (of), we can tell those fake fans to go somewhere and won’t invite them to the parade. Even though there probably won’t be a parade because of the pandemic, we’ll have to do something virtually, but if we are to win, I can give those fake fans a couple fingers that they might not like too much … For the bandwagoners: You’re not real fans.”

The Lakers trust in their men!

The Deadshot is starting for the Lakers ever since the Orlando bubble season restart. The head coach Frank Vogel has enough trust in his men.

But Danny has failed to impress in a lot many areas. His 3P% is just 34.6 and the field goal accuracy a poor 35.7%. He has averaged 8.0 points in the playoffs while playing for 26.8 minutes per game. The fans want to see a better Danny out there who can contribute healthily into Lakers’ win.

The Los Angeles Lakers will face the winner of Game 7 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets in the conference semis. Danny must show some improvement hereon.
