“Stop Lying” – Conor McGregor Not Happy With Dana White’s Comments

It seems that all is not well between the UFC President Dana White and the former UFC double champ Conor McGregor. After a press conference where White accused McGregor of breaking the “man code”, “The Notorious One” responded with some words of his own.

Just a while ago, McGregor had released the private chats of him and White from his Twitter account. The chats were of two discussing McGregor’s next bout after he beat Donald Cerrone in January.

The messages showed McGregor wanting to fight soon. UFC veteran Diego Sanchez was seen as a possible next opponent for him. McGregor asked for the current interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje as well. White and McGregor seemed to go back and forth regarding the date for the event.

Following this was a screenshot of McGregor telling White that he will not be stepping in as the substitute for the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson fight, which was scheduled to take place in April. Dana seemed to comply.

Dana White’s reaction to the leaked tweets and the response from Conor McGregor

Questions regarding these tweets from Conor were raised for White in the post-fight press conference. White apparently wasn’t too pleased with it and responded saying “Listen, I’ve had people blowing me up left and right. I mean everybody here knows I mean, even the ladies, this is a man code stuff.

“It’s just something you don’t do. It’s one of the dirtiest things you can do. Which, by the way, you know because we’re just talking about Diego Sanchez, and Diego Sanchez is in there in the private conversation I was having with Conor.

When you’re the number 2 or 3 ranked guy in the world and you’re telling me you wanna fight unranked, 39-year old Diego Sanchez in a main-event in Los Angeles,” Dana added.

McGregor responded to White’s comments tweeting, “Code was broke when you lied about me turning down fights mate. I said Justin in May and you went and said I did not want to fight. It’s not about Diego. Diego was a filler to get more fights in. Also, you have been involved in Manny talks the legal letters are here. Stop lying.”

McGregor’s last lines were in response to White saying he wasn’t aware of the current situation of the possible fight between Conor McGregor and boxer Manny Pacquiao.

With McGregor seemingly retired and looking forward to boxing. And White not very interested in pursuing the Irish star, a return to the octagon for McGregor isn’t likely in the books anytime soon.
