Fortnite Gameplay Element ‘Boggles’ TimTheTatman

Fortnite has been and still is one of the most popular Battle Royale titles out there. With the Marvel-themed latest season, it has upped its popularity quotient even further, and fans have loved all that is new this season. However, some complaints that were there about the game earlier have remained. A lot of pros who left the Fortnite scene did so citing their displeasure with the gameplay, or the community.

Fortnite pro SypherPK recently uploaded a video where he talks to Timthetatman and CouRage about their displeasures with the game. Now, as Sypher says, the game has been doing really well in terms of player engagement. Although there are players leaving the game, it is nothing compared to the incoming traffic of players. Given the average age range of the game, it has a high user satisfaction. This is why Epic focuses on introducing new angles and features into the game, like the Marvel-themed season.

“People are still playing the game in record numbers, viewership on Twitch and on YouTube is still super high. So they’re just focusing on their seasons and getting people to buy the season pass and doing these collaborations,” said SypherPK.

What is the main issue with Fortnite?

The problems that remain in the game are in terms of gameplay. Fortnite has lost the intense action that it once featured. Timthetatman says, “It boggles my mind they didn’t do anything for the pacing… Not bigger lobbies, even a mini royale version or something.” And this has been a standing complaint that many pros have with the game. Sypher has spoken of it earlier and mentioned that this is a major reason why he would want to create Warzone content majorly with his friends (Tim, Nickmercs, and so on).

Now, on the other hand, there is Warzone, which is the game Timthetatman and CouRage majorly play. Here is a game that promises intense action all throughout. In addition to this, WZ has its own unique features that set it apart from the other Battle Royales out there. Fortnite keeps evolving its map and associated features and content but has not evolved the lobby to ensure intense gameplay.

Furthermore, Sypher goes on to say that the community has changed a lot as well:

“The community that was built around Fortnite… The, you know, OG Fortnite streamers, and those moments, those tournaments… the kill races, going for world records… that’s the community that is dying. Not the game.”

Looks like the complaints are still the same with Fortnite and this is entirely what is causing the game to lose a fraction of its player base. Will Epic Games do anything about it? Let’s hope so!
