Deshaun Watson was impressive for the Houston Texans over the last two seasons. He joined the Texas-based franchise in 2017 but only made three appearances for the Texans in his rookie year. Since becoming a starter in 2018, Watson has gone on to establish himself as one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL. Over the last three years, Watson has thrown for 9,716 passing yards and completed 71 TDs against 29 interceptions. He has a win-loss record of 24-13 with the Texans and a pass completion rate of 66.8 percent.
In fact, he even came in at number 20 on the NFL Top 100 list this year. The former Clemson Tigers starter was rewarded by the Texans for his recent exploits in the league with a long-term extension. Watson signed a four-year extension with the Houston-based franchise. Here are the details of his new contract which is nothing short of a bumper deal.

Watson put pen to paper on the four-year deal which will see him $111 million in guarantees. As per reports, Watson could earn up to $49 million more in bonus clauses. His annual salary rounds up to $40 million on an annual basis. That makes him the second-highest-paid quarterback in the league behind Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes. Watson’s new deal will keep him with the Texans until 2025. He will be eligible for free agency when he turns 30. After that, he can bag another big-money deal in the latter half of his career.
