Shroud Calls Out Clout Chasers on Valorant

Clout chasing in the gaming industry is not a rare sight. The latest to experience that would be Michael “Shroud” Grziesk. Shroud firmly made a point during one of his Twitch streamers but it is unclear who he is particularly talking about.

Shroud was one of the biggest names on Twitch alongside Ninja. Both names then made a move to Microsoft owned Mixer in 2019, much to everyone’s shock. Things weren’t entirely smooth for them as they failed to bring in their followers to the new platform.

Shroud is not a fan of clout chasing

Earlier this year, Mixer shut down, leaving everyone to wonder where Shroud would go to next. He made a surprise announcement of his Twitch return and things have been bright for the streamer. His comeback stream even amassed more than 500,000 viewers.

However, while he was at Mixer, he did not receive any invites to play Valorant with fellow players/streamers. He has called out those unnamed Valorant players for not inviting him back then, but wanting to right now as he is back in the spotlight.

“I’m just saying okay, I’m just saying. It’s a little weird that everybody is asking me to play. But when I was on that platform that shall not be named, didn’t get much attention. Hmm…weird, just saying. I’ve been playing this game for how f***** long, huh? Now you want to play with me? Whatever dude”, Shroud said.

Many believe that the said streamers/players could include names such as Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik. The former CS: GO pro turned Valorant player could be one among many that Shroud has likely called out.

Again, as he is not mentioning anyone in particular, it is hard to judge. Mixer wasn’t a widely viewed platform and this could be the reason why Shroud wasn’t invited. Leaving Twitch for Mixer did bring in some heat back then as well.

Them wanting to play with Shroud at the moment is clout chasing, something that he doesn’t approve. He is clear about his approach and that is appreciable.
