One of the toughest hurdles for the NBA players in the Orlando Bubble was staying away from their families and friends. Naturally, the isolation impacts each and everyone in their own way. However, Damian Lillard has been able to breathe a sigh of relief now that he has left the bubble. Even though the reason for leaving might be very bad news for the Portland Trail Blazers, Lillard looked happy with his decision.
Damian Lillard reunited with his son
Lillard first suffered a broken index finger in game 2 of the series against Los Angeles Lakers. Although, this did not cost him any games. It took a turn for the worse when Lillard suffered a knee injury during game 4. This was a non-contact injury, but he was declared out for Game 5.
After hearing about his unavailability in game 5, it made everyone worry about the Blazers’ future games against the Lakers. Damian has been the leader of the team so far. His outstanding performances to qualify them for the playoffs made him one of the most dangerous players to compete against.
Even though game 5 was postponed because of the season being suspended, Lillard has officially left the Orlando Bubble to receive proper treatment for his knee. This would be very disadvantageous for the Blazers as it puts their dream to reach the playoff finals at a big risk. Nevertheless, you can’t help but be happy for the star when you see him posting a picture of him being reunited with his son after countless months.
On Instagram, Damian posted a picture of his son sitting on his lap. The caption was, “Dislocated finger…Lateral knee sprain…but this is good for the soul….missed my baby boy.”
Any chance of Lillard returning?
It looks like the journey might be coming to an end for the Blazers. It’s not likely that the MVP will be returning to the bubble anytime soon. Considering how they have been playing the last few games, even with Lillard, there is no chance they can do any better without him.
The postponed dates for the matches have not been confirmed yet. Till then the Blazers can only pray that their start player miraculously returns for their rescue.
