It’s been a rather eventful offseason for Green Bay Packers great Aaron Rodgers. The NFL veteran suffered another NFC Championship heartbreak last year in the dismal loss to San Francisco 49ers. The Packers decided to bring in Utah State quarterback Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL draft. In fact, they traded up to draft him in the first round.
That definitely came as a shock to Aaron, who handled the news with grace as usual. The coronavirus pandemic, shorter training camp, no preseason games and add a split with long-time beau Danica Patrick to the mix, and Rodgers has been busy in 2020. However, a certain NFL reporter believes that the fear of losing his starting berth to Love is the last thing on A-Rod’s mind.

On Friday’s segment of ESPN’s Get Up, host Mike Greenberg was joined by NFL reporter Jeff Darlington and football coach Eric Mangini. When asked about Love’s arrival in Wisconsin, here’s what Darlington replied.
He said. “Greeny (Mike Greenberg) I love this show so much, I love you so much, this is one of my favorite things I do at ESPN, I hate the Jordan Love conversation more than any sports topic we discuss.
“Now we’re talking about the guy who’s not expected to be the starter until like five years from now in training camp of his rookie year? It doesn’t matter. I don’t even care about Jordan Love to begin with. They have Aaron Rodgers on the field. Just because he was picked in the first round doesn’t mean he’s going to replace a legend. This drives me nuts Greeny.”
Rodgers is two years away from leaving the Packers claims another correspondent
However, Mangini had a different opinion on the debate. He said that Love will prove to be a good long-term investment for Rodgers departs.
“I think that’s the message they wanted to send when they drafted the quarterback,” Mangini said. “When you make that decision to draft a quarterback, you’re drafting the future. Aaron Rodgers was the one guy on that team that was untouchable. I’m sure he has a really strong personality.
‘For a young coach, this sends a message that no one is bigger than the team. If anything, this is a great situation, because Aaron played extremely well last year. Now if he thinks he’s gonna be leaving next year or the year after, you’re getting an even higher motivated player because he’s working on a contract year. He’s working on his potential future which isn’t going to be in Green Bay. But I think we’re at least two years away from that,” Mangini added via 247sports.com.
Rodgers will be entering his 15th season in the NFL this year. No doubt, all eyes will be on the two-time NFL MVP award winner as he takes the stage. Will this be his last year in Wisconsin? Is this the end of the Rodgers era? stick around and you’ll find out soon enough.
