Power hits back at McGuire's 'disingenuous' outburst

Port Adelaide has hit back at criticism from Collingwood president Eddie McGuire over the club's Prison Bar jersey.

Ken Hinkley's side will wear the jersey in next week's Showdown against Adelaide, but the club wants to wear it again next year, as fans will be banned from this year's match.

McGuire threatened to go to court if the Power was allowed to wear the traditional jumper next year.

"What we are asking for is not unreasonable and any fair-minded person would understand that," Port Adelaide chairman David Koch said.

Port Adelaide Power

"We are simply asking the AFL to approve Port Adelaide to wear our iconic jersey in South Australia against our local rivals, the Adelaide Crows.

"We aren't asking to wear it every week, or every home game, or against Collingwood. All we are asking is to wear it in Adelaide against our South Australian rivals.

More to come.
