Karachi: Former Australian cricketer and now a renowned coach, Dean Jones was surprised on the exclusion of Asif Ali from the 29-men squad for the England tour.
Jones thinks that the hard-hitting batsman Asif Ali is not being utilized properly. “I have known Asif for a long time. I know what makes him tick. He can also be used as an opener, trust me, he can do various roles, not just as a banger at the death!” Jones tweeted.

The 28-year-old Asif last played in series against Australia where Pakistan lost 2-0. He was not part of the T20I squad against Bangladesh earlier this year. Asif has represented Pakistan in 18 ODIs and 24 T20Is with a strike rate of over 128 in both formats.
