The NRL are set to carve out an entirely new draw as the game gets set to resume on May 28.
According to Fox Sports, the NRL, in consultation with broadcasters Fox Sports and Channel Nine, will start from scratch to build out the remaining 18 games of the 20-round competition.
The report claims the new draw is unlikely to be released until late next week.
The NRL fixture under normal circumstances takes around two months for the game to complete as clubs and stakeholders typically get a say about preferred fixtures.
A software system designed to generate solutions is how the game goes about designing their draw.
But with a national cabinet meeting scheduled for May 11, the NRL will be forced to hold out on publishing the fixture as they await further information from the government.
Players on Monday undertook a strict biosecurity session designed to ensure teams understand what's required in enabling the season to relaunch at the end of the month.
The Melbourne Storm and New Zealand Warriors are the only two teams at this stage who face the possibility of setting up their training routines and base in a camp-style format.
Victoria is the only NRL state in Australia which is yet to lift their travel restrictions.
As of Wednesday this week, it's expected all 16 clubs will start training.
