Sparking more rumours that he's out of money and in desperate need of another big pay day, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has thrown out a challenge for a rematch with UFC star Conor McGregor.
Mayweather's financial position came into focus last month when it was revealed the undefeated great had struck a deal to charge fans for online meet and greets despite amassing a $1.36 billion fortune from his career in the ring.
The former champion has been hinting at a return to fighting for a while, most recently on a speaking tour of the UK and last November when he announced he was "coming out of retirement in 2020" to work with UFC boss Dana White on a "spectacular event".
Even when After McGregor won his UFC comeback against Donald Cerrone in January, Mayweather uploaded a made up fight poster of the pair online, further fueling comeback rumours.

In an Instagram Live video, Mayweather tanuted McGregor: "Where he at? He don't want this."
Speaking on The Mayweather Channel on YouTube, the boxer's uncle Jeff Mayweather, said "no one really knows what Floyd's doing" and most people in the sport are in a "wait-and-see" situation due to the pandemic and the restrictions.
Jeff Mayweather said if his nephew did return he would target the UFC's top fighters rather than the best of the best on the boxing world like an Errol Spence or Terence Crawford.
He said his nephew had a specific social media strategy designed to keep the media and online users thinking he's coming back.
"He's the highest grossing boxer in history and that makes people excited because some want to see him beat, some want to see him win, and some are not sure if he's done or can even compete at the highest level anymore."
"Floyd has created a market to continue making money even at his age because he's not fighting Errol Spence, he's not fighting Terence Crawford, and he's not fighting the top echelon of boxing," Jeff Mayweather said.
"If he returned it would be to fight "the top echelon of the UFC, which basically means he's got too much experience for them.
"With him being my nephew, I think that's the wisest way to continue to earn a whole lot of money because people are willing to pay for it.
"Why step in the ring with Errol Spence when you can step in the ring with Conor McGregor and make three times the money?"
McGregor, 31, was beaten by Mayweather on his boxing debut in 2017, which was the American's last professional fight.
For his return bout against Cerrone, the Irishman said he linked back up with one of his first ever boxing coaches and believes he's more prepared for tilt at boxing than ever before.
"I wasn't sinking into my shots like I am now, [with] what my boxing coaches are drilling, specific boxing things they're drilling into me again," McGregor told ESPN in January.
"I know I beat Floyd, I'd beat Floyd if we rematched, when we rematch. I would like to box him. I think that would be a good rematch.
"But also, I would be open to other boxing bouts. You know, Manny. We're actually close to signing Manny. There's been talks about the Manny fight as well."
