“I Feel Bad For a Lot of People But Definitely Not Jon Jones”- Dominick Reyes

In a recent interview with MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck, Dominick Reyes doubles down on his thoughts about Jon Jones. Reyes goes on to suggest that Jones should be getting some professional help to make changes in his life.

The light-heavyweight champion entering a guilty plea over charges of DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) broke the internet. However, it does not come as a surprise to Bones’ last opponent, Dominick Reyes.

In addition, The Devastator claims that he is glad this did not happen ahead of their fight at UFC 247. The fight saw Jon Jones retaining his title successfully after a closely contested fight.

“The first thing I thought was like, ‘Again? What is this guy doing?’. Secondly was, ‘I’m glad it didn’t happen before our fight. And then third was, ‘This guy needs some real help’. So that was my entire thought process on it.”- Dominick Reyes to Mike Heck

However, the 30-year-old fighter is clear on one thing, he does not feel bad for Jon Jones at all. Initially, Reyes went on record calling Jones a “habitual line stepper”.

Seemingly implying that Jones got what was coming for him. And considering Jones’ history of run-ins with the law, perhaps the Cage Combat Academy fighter is onto something.

“No. Not at all. I feel bad for a lot of people but definitely not Jon Jones. Ever.”- Dominick Reyes

Dominick Reyes Gunning For a Rematch

Taking place early this year, Reyes faced a rather controversial loss against Jones. The final bell left many fans wondering why Reyes was not walking away with the light heavyweight belt at his waist. Several factions believe that Reyes deserved the win.

However, since his loss, Reyes has been chasing a rematch desperately. Looking to get a hold of, what he feels, is rightfully his. When asked about how the UFC should be punishing Jones, The Devastator has a creative solution in mind.

“I’m not one of those decision-makers. I think the punishment should be ‘you got a rematch with Dom.’ That should be the punishment. It only makes sense. I’ll serve up some justice. I’m fine with that. Let’s do it.”- Dominick Reyes

Reyes is certain that in their previous match-up he had proven himself as the better fighter. And has been looking for a chance to do so again ever since.

Do you think Reyes will get that opportunity?
