Crows veteran Walker weighing up his future

Adelaide Crows star Taylor Walker revealed the coronavirus outbreak has forced him to consider his future in the game beyond this season.

The 29-year-old stepped down from co-captaincy duties last season and removed himself from Adelaide's leadership group.

Despite being contracted until the end of 2021, the former Adelaide skipper admits the COVID-19 pandemic has given him a different perspective, forced to weigh up his options with no certainty around when he will finish up his AFL career.

"I'd be lying if I sat here right now and said I haven't stressed about when my career will finish," Walker told 7 News.

"Will we play at the end of the year, and things like that.

"They're all things that when you've got time on your side, you sit there and think about.

"(It) potentially puts some stress onto people that's not only financial stress but your well-being, your family and things like that."

Walker led his club in goals kicked last season with 43 to his name.

Set to turn 30 this Saturday, the forward is scheduled to reach his 200-game milestone in round 11 should the season eventually resume.
