BREAKING: Todd Greenberg steps down as NRL CEO

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg has quit his position, effective immediately.

Greenberg had been the subject of intense media scrutiny about his position prior to the season suspension brought about by COVID-19 and the CEO, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the year anyway, has made the decision to step away from the position he’s held since 2016 in a move described by the NRL as a mutual agreement.

Greenberg’s decision follows an intense attack on the game’s management from broadcaster Channel Nine a week and a half ago, which has since seen ARLC chairman Peter V’landys take the lead in television rights negotiations with Nine and Foxtel.
