The tennis American icon Serena Williams has been in the quest of her 24th Slam for three years now, also her first major title as a mother is due.
After delivering her daughter Alexis Olympia, Williams extended her Wimbledon match winning streak to 20, re-entered the top-10 rankings, claimed a title in Auckland and reached four Grand Slams.
In the midst of all her success as a mother, Serena Williams delivered some exceptional shots after coming back to the circuit post her maternity hiatus.

To begin with the seesawing match at Wimbledon 2019 match against compatriot Alison Riske was one of her best matches as a mother. Riske had all the chances to pull off the biggest upset in the quarterfinals of SW19. But Serena’s warrior-like tennis snapped Alison’s hopes for the victory.
In the third set, at 4-3, Serena began by returning Riske’s hefty serve and following that she was perplexed on the baseline. Later, Serena placed an astute drop shot and simultaneously read Alison’s racquet. Before Alison could react to her backhand reply, Serena dropped an unplayable volley.
Williams vs. Svitolina
At the US Open 2019, Serena Williams was playing against the fifth seed Elina Svitolina in the semifinals. The debutant in the semifinals of Flushing Meadows Svitolina seemed nervous throughout the match. But at certain instants, she made it taxing for Serena to win points.
In the second set at 3-1, the Ukrainian served to Serena’s backhand. Following that Svitolina dropped a down a line forehand and then came up with a forehand drop shot which compelled Serena to sprint to the net. Williams fearlessly returned the tough drop shot and gave it a beautiful angle.

The Williams sisters showdown
Serena’s first WTA tournament as a mother at Indian Wells in 2018, rejoiced the crowd with a ‘Serena vs. Venus’ matchup in the third round. In the second set Venus Williams delivered a serve on Serena’s forehand, followed by some baseline rallies, Serena came up with a drop shot. Later, Venus gave it a soft touch. But with Serena’s soft lunge-volley lob elated the Californian crowd.
Doubles mania with Wozniacki
In Caroline Wozniacki’s penultimate WTA tournament, the Dane and the American ace played doubles tennis together. Playing some best tennis from the service box, Serena’s back to back volleys perplexed her opponents. And later she concluded the point with a forehand winner.
Azarenka vs Williams
One of the best performances by Serena as a mother was delivered at Indian Wells in 2019 against her rival Victoria Azarenka. The seesawing match witnessed a jaw-dropping serve-and-volley from Serena.
Serena Williams takes out the top-seed
The Australian Open 2018 match against Simona Halep, the Romanian bounced back after dropping the one-sided first set. Top-seed Halep made is challenging for Williams to seal her fourth-round victory at Aussie Open, and the 23-time Grand Slam champion took out the defending finalist, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.
One of her best shots also came at the controversial match at US Open 2018, against Naomi Osaka. Despite the mental havoc and the rant with the chair umpire Carlos Ramos, her drop shot left Osaka helpless.
