NBA legend and current ESPN analyst Paul Pierce isn’t taking any chances with the Coronavirus pandemic.
The dreaded virus has been spreading across various parts of the globe. The last few weeks has seen various sporting events facing suspension. During such a time, Pierce seems to be piling up the necessities for a crisis.
The 42-year old posted an Instagram story where he was in a grocery store with a cart filled with groceries.
“This coronavirus got me in the store like stocking up. I’m about to be in the house, ya’ll just stay safe out there, for real,” he said in the story.

NBA to remain suspended for at least 30 days
The league in which Pierce played for 19 years is currently inactive as a preventive measure for the Coronavirus outbreak.
The decision to suspend the league came after an NBA player was tested positive for the virus. Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert came in contact with the virus before his teammate Donovan Mitchell was also tested positive.
Although the fans are missing the league action, NBA commissioner Adam Silver believes the possibility of its cancellation is very little. He said that the current situation would continue for at least another 30 days.
With the league inactive, many people’s lives might be in a fix. The livelihood of people working on daily wages, for one, would be endangered by the league’s inactivity.
Taking these problems into consideration, a NBA personalities have come forward to extend their help. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban initially announced he would be paying the full wages of the workers for their next four home games. Later, many players including Kevin Love , Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Zion Williamson came forward for a good cause.
It’s bigger than basketball! And during this tough time I want to help the people that make my life, my family’s lives and my teammates lives easier. Me and my family pledge to donate $100,000 to the Fiserv Forum staff. We can get through this together! 🙏🏽
