UFC Featherweight Icon Max Holloway Visits a Local Hospital With Gifts

Former UFC Featherweight fighter Max Holloway on Monday delighted some children diagnosed with cancer by bringing in dozens of UFC merchandise at a local cancer treatment centre called Care 4 The Kids Foundation.

The organisation is also a facility for pediatric catastrophic diseases whose main goal is to support kids who were turned away from treatment for financial reasons.

“These kids are superheroes,” Holloway said. “It is amazing to see how in good spirits they are, how they hold up, and what they’re doing.”

The Hawaiian sports icon spent the entire day at the facility visiting sick children and even briefed the media about his upcoming plans.

“I came here so these kids could inspire me,” he added.

Max Holloway is currently ranked as the No. 1 contender of the featherweight division and is set to headline the main event at UFC 251 in a rematch against Alexander Volkanovski in Australia.

He further said that there’s no greater joy than putting smiles on the kid’s face. They are the real superheroes, he added.

Coming ‘very soon’: Max Holloway vs Alexander Volkanovski 2

Holloway lost his featherweight title to Volkanovski earlier at UFC 245 in December by unanimous decision.

Holloway, while talking to The Schmo on the sidelines, said that he is willing to appear in the octagon against Volkanovski with the live scoring system.

Earlier, Holloway had shared his view on the live scoring system saying, “Open scoring has been tested in boxing.”

“MMA isn’t boxing. We don’t know for sure how it will work in MMA. And if creates more problems than it fixes, that’s good, because at least we finally have proof and can move on to the next idea,” he added.

He further stressed on the matter saying whatever comes out from the live scoring system, positive or negative, he will be there to take it head-on.

Elsewhere, Alexander Volkanovski, who is still dealing with a lingering hand injury, said that his immediate rematch with the “Blessed” would be most feasible.

“Everyone knows I want to be on that card, and everyone knows that the UFC wants me on the card, and a lot of people are saying they want Max as well,” Volkanovski was quoted as saying by MMA Junkie.

He further stressed the importance of the rematch saying, “I think the biggest fight would be Max.

“I think for the division, for myself, and for the UFC, that is probably the fight to make,” he added.
